La fuerza de la agricultura regenerativa está en la combinación

La agricultura regenerativa plantea un doble desafío: producir alimentos para una población creciente y, al mismo tiempo, contribuir a sanar el planeta. Las prácticas individuales —como agroforestería, cultivos de cobertura o siembra directa— ya demostraron ser valiosas, pero la evidencia científica muestra que su verdadero potencial surge al integrarlas en conjunto.

Un estudio reciente analizó siete de estas prácticas y concluyó que su aplicación combinada genera mayores tasas de secuestro de carbono que cuando se implementan de manera aislada. Este hallazgo confirma algo clave: el todo es más fuerte que la suma de sus partes. Al actuar de manera sinérgica, estas estrategias no solo mejoran la salud del suelo y la productividad, sino que también refuerzan la resiliencia frente al cambio climático.

Para los productores, este conocimiento representa una oportunidad y también un desafío. Saber qué prácticas aplicar, en qué momento y bajo qué condiciones puede marcar la diferencia entre un sistema productivo que apenas se sostiene y uno que se proyecta como competitivo y sostenible a largo plazo. La decisión ya no se trata solo de producir más, sino de producir mejor y con métricas confiables que validen los resultados.
